Your Conservative Candidates for Selsey South

Roger Barrow:

Roger retired from a 43 year career with Waitrose and John Lewis, where he was head of their flagship store in Canary Wharf.

Formerly, chair of the Selsey Business Partnership where he initiated and presented the Selsey Business Awards.

Roger was elected to the District Council in May 2015 and appointed as Cabinet member for Residents’ Services with responsibility for waste and recycling, street scene, green spaces, parks, litter. At various times he was also responsible for revenue, benefits and Customer Service.

He is keen to see local business thrive and passionate about supporting the Selsey environment and ensuring the Council support the vulnerable people in our society.

Roger initiated and led two important environmental campaigns to improve recycling and reducing litter. His ‘Against Litter’ campaign received two national awards.

Roger is a qualified yachtmaster and amateur musician, he has lived in Selsey with his wife Pat for the last 15 years, where his 12 grandchildren love to visit and enjoy the beach.

Colin Rickman:

Colin is married with four children and has lived in Selsey for 10 years. He studied Engineering at Southampton.

Colin changed career to work within the Funeral and bereavement service profession holding various management positions.

Colin is very active in the community. A member of Lion’s Clubs International for 40 years, member of Selsey Lion’s Club, Trustee/Director of Selsey Community Solar Farm, Trustee/Director of Selsey Community Forum, Vice Chair of The Cremation Society of Great Britain, currently representing the cremation society on the APPG, chaired by Sir John Hayes MP.

He is a Church Warden of St Peter’s Church and a former member of the lifeboat crew based in Lymington and Calshot. Mentor for PACT helping prisoners and people on Probation.

I have firmly believed that Selsey has been served extremely well by our current two councillors along with the Conservative Group and also believe that being part of team we can achieve continued success for Selsey residents.

Tom Bromfield

Tom has lived in Selsey for 21 years in total. His daughters attended primary school in the town, where Tom became a governor for a number of years.

He has always had an interest in local politics and how local politicians can make a difference to the everyday lives of all residents. For this to work really well, he believes it is essential for councillors to work together for the common good and that they are there to help their constituents first and foremost.

Tom works as an assistant Head in the primary age range with a particular focus on tracking academic progress of individual pupils and delivering effective teaching and learning.
